The Siege of Port Arthur (part 1)


August 1. 1904 -January 2. 1905 the deep watter port and Russian  naval  base at the tip of the Liaodong Peninsula in Manchuria, was the longest and most violent land battle of the Russo - Japanesse war.

Facts:  Result - Japanesse victory                
           Commanders and Leaders -  Nogi Maresuke (Japan)
                                                    -  Anatoly Stoessel (Russia)
           Strenght: 80 000 - 150 000 (Japan)
                                         50  000 (Russia)
           Casualties and losses: 57 780 Japan (KIA, MIA, Wounded) + 2 battleship sunk + 1 cruiser sunk
                                         
                                             15 000 - 31 000 Russia (KIA, MIA, Wounded) + 4 battleship sunk + 2                                                      cruisers sunk + 1 battleship scuttled
